ESA Consulting Engineers, PA, provides design review services in the areas of electric distribution systems for industrial plants, electric generating stations and telecommunications power plants. Although these services can be provided for power systems in general, the specialty of the firm is dc and uninterruptible power supply systems.

ESA staff have performed virtually all of the calculations and studies required to design a generating station, industrial plant or telecommunications power plant electrical auxiliary system and can perform independent review of calculations or studies for a client. These include, but are not limited to, short circuit, voltage drop, main transformer sizing, neutral grounding, motor starting, surge protection, equipment loading, battery and battery charger sizing, inverter sizing, cable sizing, protective relay settings, coordination studies and so forth. ESA can also review equipment specifications, bid evaluations, vendor drawings, pre-operational test and startup procedures, project budgets/schedules and training programs. ESA staff have also defended plant designs in audits and inspections conducted by regulatory agency inspectors or outside organizations and can assist with preparation for an audit, or inspection.
